Hope for Haiti

As everyone has heard a massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti Tuesday Evening. The quake centered 10 miles southwest of Haiti's Capital Port-Au-Prince. The US Geological Survey repoted the quake could be felt in Cuba, more than 200 miles away. About 3 million people in Haiti were affected by this quake.Red Cross has estimated at least 50,000 deaths and thousands still missing.
Massachussetts has the 3rd largest population of Haitians in the US. My heart goes out to the people of Haiti and the families suffering in the U.S., whom have lost or are missing family. In a disater of this sort I hope eveyone can take a good look look at their lives and thank God for every blessing he has given us. Let us remember to love and appreciate each other.
I was watching the news last night and was appalled by what I saw. Fake charities are being set up in the name of Haiti to scam people. After watching this I want to let people know were they can go to legitimately help. Below are ways to help, anything you can do will make a difference.

* Yele Haiti is an organization that was started by Wyclef Jean. Over the years, it has done some amazing things for the Haitian people. He is in Haiti strategizing on how Yele Haiti  will be involved in the relief efforts.

Doctors Without Borders is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in France in 1971.They provide aid in nearly 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, epidemics, malnutrition, or natural disasters. This is another great organization and they are on the ground in Haiti now too. Click here to make a donation

*Red Cross is releasing $10 Million to help in aid.
